Biography

Florence E. Cooper 95, of New Carlisle, passed away Sunday, May 24th at Memorial Hospital.

Florence was born June 18,1919, in Marcellus, MI, to Cloyd and Mabel (Gearhart) Swartz.

On June 30, 1940, in Cass County, MI. as Florence E. Swartz she married Dale C. Cooper who preceded her in death on November 25, 2007.

Mrs. Cooper is survived by a daughter ; Kay I. (Skip) Budny of Danville, IN, a son; Larry G. (Reva) Cooper of New Carlisle, IN, a brother Willard Swartz of Three Rivers, MI. She is also survived by four loving grandchildren ,Kyle (Elaine) Cooper of Navarre, FL, Bradley (Mary-Beth) Cooper of New Carlisle, Brent (Tina) Budny of Aurora, CO, and Jeffrey (Gina) Cooper of Golden, CO, and eight great grandchildren all whom she loved and cherished.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband, a sister, Mary Butchbak and a brother Harold Swartz.

Mrs. Cooper graduated from Marcellus High School Class of 1936 and South Bend College of Commerce in 1938. She retired in 1980, from the South Bend Community School Corporation as a Secretary after 16 years of service. She worked at Colfax and Perley Schools.

Her hobbies consisted of cross stitching , word puzzles, gardening and housecleaning Mrs. Cooper was a member of the Lydick United Methodist Church for many years.
