Biography

Jacob Swartz was born in Shenandoah County, Virginia about 1795, son and youngest child of of Martin Schwartz and Eva Sommer. He married Philipena Weaver in 1816 and sold the land that his father willed him to John Hausenfluck in October 1819. He and his family moved to Harrison County, Indiana, that fall and are listed there in the 1820 census. They lived in Harrison Township in Harrison County, where he was a farmer and passed away before 1860.
