Stella (Swartz) Kennedy was born in Pennsylvania.

Stella, daughter of Harvey Warfield Swartz and Alice Fay Brosey,[1] was born 28 April 1905 in New Germantown, Toboyne Township, Perry County, Pennsylvania.[1][2][3]

In 1910, five-year-old Stella lived in rented house in Toboyne Township with her parents Harvey W. (age 26, baggage master for steam railroad) and Alice Swartz (27, mother of five, four living), and siblings Orlena M. (7), Ethel Elizabeth (6) and Harvey Leroy Swartz (3).[4]

Stella (Swartz) Kennedy was an Ohioan.

Before 1920 the family moved to Jackson Township, Richland County, Ohio, where the household consisted of Harvey (age 37, farmer), Alice (38), Orlena (17), Ethel (16), Stella (14) and Leroy Swartz (12).[5]

On 6 July 1922 in Wheeling, Ohio County, West Virginia, 21-year-old Stella married Virgil "Ruby" Kennedy (age 22).[6][7] The marriage was officiated by Pastor L. S. Grose of the Zane Street Methodist Episcopal Church.[6] They had two daughters prior to their divorce.

In 1930, Vergil R. (age 30, greenhouse florist) and Stella Kennedy (24) rented the house at 293 Cline Avenue in Madison Township, Richland County, Ohio, for themselves and their daughters aged five and six.[8]

By 1940, Stella (age 35) was the divorced head of household at 47 West Temple Court in Mansfield, Madison Township.[9] Her two daughters resided with her in the house rented for $10 monthly.[9] Stella is listed as a saleslady and as having completed eight years of formal education; both daughters attended high school.[9]

Stella died at age 85 on 9 August 1990 in Richland County, Ohio, and was buried there at London Cemetery in Shelby, Richland County.[2][10][3]
