Biography

Catherine was born in 1918. She was the daughter of Clarence Swartz and Nellie Jones. Catherine married Alfred A. Pagels in Sturgis, Michigan on 6 Dec 1941. In 1943, they had a daughter, Kathleen, who died at, or shortly after birth. They had a son, Virgil, in 1944 and two daughters, Judy and Pearl. The Pagels farmed in Sturgis, Michigan. The marriage of Catherine and Alfred lasted 57 years, ending with Alfred's death in 1991. Catherine passed away on 11 Jan1998. They are buried in Oak Lawn Cemetery in Sturgis, Michigan.
