Frank R Swast Birth: Dec. 20, 1925 Templeton, Armstrong County, Pennsylvania, USA Death: May 16, 2015 Boardman, Mahoning County, Ohio, USA Frank R. Swast, 89, of Boardman, Ohio, formerly of Templeton, died Saturday, May 16, 2015, in Hospice of the Valley in Boardman, Ohio. He was born Dec. 20, 1925, in Templeton, to the late Mike and Esther (Stockey) Swast. He retired from the maintenance department of Freeport Brick Co., was a Navy veteran serving in World War II in the Pacific Theater and stationed in Guam. He was a member of the Pine Creek Sportsman Club and Templeton Rod and Gun Club. He loved people and volunteered to help them with different projects and also was a Red Coat volunteer at Armstrong County Memorial Hospital. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Doris (Schultz) Swast; sons, Nyle Swast (Karen), of Templeton, and Alan Swast (Barbara), of Boardman, Ohio; eight grandchildren, seven greatgrandchildren; brothers, Andrew Swast (Dea), of Ellerton, Fla., and Paul Swast (Shirley), of Kittanning; a soninlaw, Rodney Reedy, of Clemmons, N.C.; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Lisa Reedy; two brothers, George and Marco Swast; and sisters, Mary Sullivan, Pauline Burtges and Dorothy Naviglia.
Friends will be received from 2 to 7 p.m. Tuesday and from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the SNYDERCRISSMAN FUENRAL HOME in Kittanning. His son the Rev. Alan Swast will be officiating. Interment in Cochran Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to Cochran Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund.
