John Swearingen was born in 1721 in Prince George's County, Maryland. He was the son of Van Swearingen and Elizabeth (Walker) Swearingen. A Bible record has John's death as August 13, 1784, age 62 years 9 months, which would make his birth in November/December 1721[1][2] He married Catherine Mary Stull in 1748 in Maryland. He passed away in 1784 in Springhill, Fayette County, Pennsylvania, United States. [1]
His birth has also been recorded in Daughters of American Revolution records as 2-15-1720 [3][4]
