Birth
Griffin Sweet was born 15 September 1709, East Greenwich, Rhode Island to parents Henry and Mary Sweet.^[1] Griffin was the twelfth of thirteen children of Henry and Mary Sweet.

Marriage and Children
On the 24th October 1736 at East Greenwich, Griffin married Priscilla, daughter of William Sweet (born 1 August 1698). ^[2] Priscilla was a first cousin of Griffin. The couple had the following known children:

2. William Sweet, b. 30 Dec 1738, West Greenwich ^[4] ; d. 2 May 1802, East Greenwich
