Mary Elizabeth Sweet, daughter of James Sweet (1792-1890), was born on Aug. 6, 1819 in Richmond Township, Lennox & Addington Counties, Upper Canada (Ontario). She became the second wife of Thomas Dudley Fox Sr. (abt.1806-bef.1891), with whom she lived in Newburgh, Ontario and raised a very large family.[1][2] She was a widow by 1891 and continued to live in Newburgh[3][4][5] until her death there on Sept. 25, 1914 at the age of 97.[6]
