Hattie P. Sweet, born October 1, 1865, in Monroe Township, Ogle County, Illinois, was the daughter of Riley Sweet and his wife, Mary Hickok. She was the younger sister of Lenora E. (Sweet) Bennett, wife of Eugene S. Bennett, of Iowa in 1878.
