Goodman Sweeten ... He passed away before 1860. [1]
He married Aurelia (Riller) Franklin, later Burkett, May 1854 in Butler County, Alabama.
On 16 Jan 1854, Goodman Sweeten had a land assessment for the SW quarter of the NW quarter ..39 acres at $1,25 an acre.[2]The record doesn't say the township and range numbers nor even the county but presumably it was in Butler County, Alabama.
They had two sons: James Fletcher and Edmond. Goodman died before the 1860 Census was taken.
The death certificate of his son James Fletcher Sweeten lists the parents as Dick Sweeten and Ril Franklin.[3]
