Biography

Philetus was the son of Elisha and Mary Ransom Swift; he was born at Kent, Connecticut on June 26, 1763.[1]

General Philetus Swift was in command of New York troops during the war of 1812 and died in Phelps, Ontario County, July 24, 1828.[2]
