The 3 census records all give different birthplaces, all in Cheshire, but Hurdsfield, Chester and, in 1881, Macclesfield.
Harriet was a 20 yr old laundry-maid when she was living at Haigh Hall in 1871.
The Marriage Record shows that on 1 Jan 1873 at Christ Ch, Patricroft, Eccles, John Taylor, of full age and a bachelor and of Ellermore St, Winton married Harriet Swift, of full age and a spinster of Ellermore St, Winton. The Groom's Father, Henry Taylor was a mason and the Bride's Father, Robert Swift was a Police Constable. The witnesses were Thomas Leah and Elizabeth Leah (X).
