Elizabeth Sydenham was born about 1565 at Combe Sydenham, England. She was the only child of Sir George Sydenham of Combe Sydenham.
At age 20 she married by contract to Sir Francis Drake in 1585, at Monksilver, Somerset, England as his second wife. He was a son of Edmund Drake.
Widowed, Elizabeth married second to Sir William Courtenay of Powderham, Devon on 25 Aug 1595/6. He was a son of Sir William Courtenay and Lady Elizabeth Paulet.
Lady Elizabeth Drake passed away in 9 June 1598 at Powderham, Devon, England.
