Benjamin Sykes was born in 1850 at Deddington in Oxfordshire, the son of Benjamin Sykes and his wife Martha, born Martha Dale ^{[1] [2]}.

In 1851 Benjamin was living at Philcock Street in Deddington in Oxfordshire with his parents Benjamin and Martha and their other children. His age was given as 10 months, implying a birth date in 1850. His birthplace was given as Deddington, Oxfordshire ^[2].

He died later in 1851 at the age of 1 ^[3].
