Biography

George Sykes was born in Toxteth Park, Lancashire, England.

George was born in Toxteth Park, Lancashire, England, on January 18, 1902.^[1] He was the son of Henry Howell Sykes and Mary Morrison. He was baptized on February 10, 1902, at Our Lady of Lourdes and St Bernard, Liverpool, Lancashire.^[2] He was enumerated in the 1911 census ^[3] as a ten year old residing with his parents and three siblings at 24 Tunstall St Liverpool. (Note...two half siblings and one boarder also at residence).

George married Ellen Midghall in 1928.^[4] The marriage was registered in the first quarter in Liverpool. It appears the couple had two children. George and Ellen appeared in the 1939 Register^[5] residing at 25 Chilcott Road, Liverpool. His occupation "Storekeeper". (Note...one child listed, one redacted entry at address).

George passed away in 1983.^[6] His death was registered in the fourth quarter in Liverpool.
