Daniel was born on July 4, 1811, to Daniel Sylvester[[Sylvester-630|Daniel and Hannah (Noyes) SylvesterHannah Noyes in Palermo, Maine. On May 21, 1854 in Freedom, Maine he first married Louisa Drake. On February 4, 1866 in Benton, Maine he married 2nd Christina Alden Drake.
