Amos Silvester was born in 1685. He was the son of Joseph Silvester[1] and Mary Barstow. [2]

He married Elizabeth Henchman on Nov 20, 1706. She died age 77 on Feb 11, 1762. He kept a tavern in his residence as did his wife after he was deceased. [2]

Amos died Oct 23, 1753 in Hanover, Massachusetts .[2]


His will was dated 12 October 1753 and proved on 5 November 1753 in Plymouth. He mentions his wife Elizabeth, and his children, Amos, William, Hinkman, Michael, Nathaniel, Caleb, Edmond, Thomas, and Elizabeth (who is not able to care for herself).[3]

His inventory was taken on 29 November 1753 in Plymouth. He is described as an innholder.[4]

In 1762, an account of his estate by Amos Silvester and William Silvester was recorded which included debts paid, improvements to the farm, items sold, and administration fees.[5]
