Biography

Joseph Sylvester was born June 23, 1695 at Plymouth, the son of Joseph Sylvester and Hannah Bartlett. Joseph died April 23, 1723 at age 28, at Plymouth.^[1]

Joseph married Mercy Holmes, daughter of Elisha and Sarah (Bartlett) Holmes, July 14, 1721, at Plymouth. Their known children, born at Plymouth, were:^[1]

1. Sarah Sylvester, born October 11, 1721
2. Joseph Sylvester, born October 4, 1723

Joseph died intestate and on June 17, 1724, Mercy was appointed administratrix of Joseph Sylvester's estate.^[1][2]

His inventory was taken on 26 June 1724 in Plymouth.^[3]

Joseph was named in his parent's will as being deceased. The will was written November 1, 1734, and was probated March 4, 1754.^[4][5]
