Francis Symonds was born in Essex County, Massachusetts Bay -- probably at Topsfield -- about 1720. He married first the widowed Abigail (Balch) Porter in 1748; the couple ultimately lived in Danvers, where Abigail died about 1758. Francis was remarried, to Elizabeth Green, in 1759; he died at Danvers in 1775.
