Gerda Roberts Sørensen blev født i København som datter af Jens Henrik Sørensen and Petrea Nielsen ^[1]

Hun blev først gift med sin fætter Verner Gerhardt Høegh Thomsen 9. maj 1937 i Sct. Jacobs Kirke. København^[2] Efter hans død 31 december samme år blev hun gift med Knud Selmer 29. marts 1947 på Københavns Rådhus.

Hun døde 1988 og blev begravet på Gormsgades Kirkegård, Esbjerg ^[3]
