To you all to whom these presents shall come_ greetings
Know you that John C Ramsey has been appointed by the probate Court of the County, Guardian to Laura Tabb in Virginia E Tabb, minor heirs under the age of fourteen years, children of Thomas B Tabb and Laura E Tabb both deceased. The said John C Ramsey is therefore authorized and required to discharge in all respects the duties of guardian to the said Laura Tabb and Virginia E Tabb to help according to law.
Witness, the Honorable Steven A Brown Judge of Probate of the County of Lowndes the 17th day of September AD 1857.

Note - the digital record is found under Louisiana records. The petitioner is Margaret Taylor, grandmother, resident of New Orleans, with whom the children were living. John L McMahon, Alabama, was the original guardian but had died. The Court agreed appointing John C Ramsey, a resident of Lowndes County, would allow the enslaved to remain on the Tabb lands in Mississippi.
On 1 Jan 1891, William and Virginia Bohannon filed suit in Richmond Circuit Court against Tabb relatives for a portion of Virginia's inheritance.
On 14 Mar 1894, Virginia Gordon Bohannonrequested the Circuit Court of the County of Chesterfield to issue a restraining order against William A Bohannon, annul her marriage and allow a property transaction soon to be settle remain her separate estate. This property is related to the the 1891 suit.
Notes on The Moody Papers
The letters were sent to and retained by Martha William (Wright) Moody (1816-1885) spanning much of her life beginning in 1829 when she goes to school and ending in 1881 about four years before her death.
The letters describe southern plantation life during the period of western migration in the southern states, illness and death of family members, crop production, slaves, fashion, and religion.
This prominent planter family resided in Brunswick, Greensville, and Southampton Counties and Petersburg, Virginia; and, Northampton County, North Carolina, Mississippi and Tennessee. Surnames include Wright, Moody, Dancy, Leigh, Patterson, Crump, Lockhart, Charlton, Rhodes, Sykes and Mason.

Research Notes
This researcher has not found a 1880 census record for Virginia and her children. Based on her letter to her mother-in-law, 1 May 1881, she was still living with her husband in Mississippi. By 1882, William Scott Moody is listed living with his mother in Petersburg, Virginia.
