William Tack was born in 1906 in Frankenlust Township, Bay, Michigan, the son of William Tack and Adelina Misch, who both were born in Germany.[1]
In 1910, the Tack family lived in Frankenlust, Michigan. The household included William Tack, 36, born in Germany (parents b. Germany), a laborer in a crane shop, who immigrated in 1898, and was a naturalized citizen, and who owned their home without a mortgage; his wife of eleven years (first marriage for both), Adeline, 29, b. Germany (parents b. Germany), immigrated in 1898, she and William could both read and write; their four children, all b. Michigan: Harold, 10; Gertrude, 8; Edwin, 6; and William, 4.[2]
In 1920, the Tack family lived at 202 Braddock Street, Bay, Michigan. The household included William Tack, 47, born in Germany, immigrated in 1897, a naturalized citizen, a factory foreman, who owned their house free and clear; his wife Adeline, 39, b. Germany, immigrated in 1881, not naturalized; and their five children, all b. Michigan: Harold, 19, factory laborer; Gertrude, 17, factory laborer; Edwin, 15, newspaper carrier, and in school; William, Jr., 13, in school; and Adeline, 2. All could read and write, except for the baby.[3]
The Tack house at 202 Braddock, Bay, Michigan is a two-storey, wood frame house which sits on a corner lot. Charmingly, the front door faces the intersection of the two streets. The house was built in 1900, and has five bedrooms, 1816sf, and the roof features several deeply pitched gables.[4]
William Heinrich Tack was born 18 May 1906 in Bay, Michigan, the son of William Friedrich Tack (1872 Germany-1950 MI) and Adeline Caroline Misch (1880 Germany-1945), who married in 1899. Adeline was the daughter of Albert Ernest Misch (1845 Germany-1904 MI) and Alvina Wilhelmina Dommke (1857 Germany-1911 MI).
In 1939, William married Arvillla Leona Miller (1912 MI-1991 MI). She was married previously to Lawrence Glenn Smythe. Arvilla was the daughter of Edward Misch (1871 Canada-1944 MI) and Ida M. Yax (1885 MI-1967 MI).
William died on 14 January 1971, aged 64, in Saginaw, Saginaw, Michigan. He is buried with his wife at Lakefield Cemetery, Lakefield, Saginaw, Michigan.[5]
