Victoria "Vicki" Taft was born November 11, 1951 in Norristown, PA, the daughter of Larry Debaun and Marian Bradford Taft, and died November 8, 2018 in Paradise, CA, in the Butte Camp Fire.
Vicki, as she was known to friends and family, grew up in the Hollywood film scene, starring in her first play at just 6 years old. She would often visit her father, a cameraman, on set at Paramount Pictures and on the classic television show, “Happy Days.” Her grandfather was Everett Debaun, a screenwriter through the 1950s and ’60s. Taft appeared in more than 20 television shows, movies and plays, but her most notable film work was perhaps as a stuntwoman on the 1990 film, “Dick Tracy,” where she doubled for Glenne Headly.
When she became pregnant with her daughter Christina in the early ’90s, Taft closed the Hollywood chapter of her life and began a new one as a stay-at-home mom in Arizona. In 2008, they moved to Paradise together to support Vicki Taft’s stepmother, Marjorie.
She died at her home in the Camp Fire, just three days before her 67th birthday. [1]
Vicki's northeastern maternal grandparents were Jerome Bradford Taft, Vice President of an advertising agency, and Edith Baldwin. Vicki was named after her step-grandmother, Victoria Bornemann. Her paternal grandparents were Edna Snedeker and Everett Debaun. Her mother, Marian Taft, did some modeling in Los Angeles before moving to Oregon to a ranch and practicing business.
