Biography

When Polly Thayer Taft was born on June 9, 1773, in Uxbridge, Massachusetts, her father, Reuben, was 30, and her mother, Faithful, was 28. She had four sons and four daughters with Jesse Hurlbut between 1793 and 1806. She died on October 26, 1848, in Toledo, Ohio, having lived a long life of 75 years, and was buried in Jefferson, Ohio.
