Biography

Samuel Taggart was born October 17, 1796 in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania.

His first wife was Elizabeth McDowell, daughter of Samuel and Hannah (Fisher) McDowell, she died May 14, 1842 in Richland County, Ohio. She was probably the Free white female listed in his 1840 census record that was in the age bracket of 40 to 50 Years.

  1. William TAGGART - Possibly the one that married on 9 September 1842 in Richland County, Ohio to Sarah FEASIG.[1]

Samuel's second wife was Sarah Ann Spenny, dauther of Benjamin and Nancy (Morrison) Spenny. They married October 11, 1853 in Clark County, Illinois.[4], [5]
