In 1861 Jacob Tait (age 55, Pitman Elswick Colliery) lived at Scotswood Road in Elswick, Northumberland with his wife Ann (54) and four children: Elizabeth (17, Dressmaker), Jacob (14), Barbery (12), and Ann (9).[2]
