Rear-Admiral Sir Charles Talbot was born on 1 November 1801. He was the son of Very Rev. Charles Talbot and Lady Elizabeth Somerset. He married Hon. Charlotte Georgiana Ponsonby, daughter of Maj.-Gen. Hon. Sir William Ponsonby and Hon. Georgiana Fitzroy, on 11 December 1838. He died on 8 August 1876 at age 74. He was invested as a Knight Commander, Order of the Bath (K.C.B.) He gained the rank of Rear-Admiral in the service of the Royal Navy.[1]
