I was born September 1, 1932, in Chicago, Illinois, graduated high school in Elmhurst,

Illinois, 1950. Attended Carthage College, Carthage, Illinois, 1950-1952. (Now in Kenosha,

Wisconsin). Transferred to South Dakota State University, majored in Agricultural Journalism,

graduated 1954. Did graduate work at Iowa State University, 1955-56 and was Farm Editor for the

Ames Daily Tribune, Ames, Iowa. Served on Active Duty (Army) from 1956-58, Sandia Base,

Albuquerque, New Mexico. Married June 23, 1956, to Marita Nelson Talbott, who was born

December 4, 1934, in Jackson, Minnesota. Worked as writer, editor, cameraman for KOB-TV News,

Albuquerque, 1955-1962. Information Specialist, United States Forest Service, R-3, Albuquerque New Mexico, 1962-1964. Worked for United States Senator Edwin Mechem, 1964, became execu

secretary, New Mexico Cattle Growers Association, 1964-1969. Entered the Life Insurance Businl

Albuquerque, 1969, transferred to Eugene, Oregon 1973 with my own agency. Still working. Have

served as President, Albuquerque and New Mexico Societies, Sons of American Revolution.

President, New Mexico Chapter, Sigma Delta Chi. President of Amazon Kiwanis Club, Eugene

Chapter of CLU, Eugene Life Underwriters Association, Oregon State Life Underwriters Associati

and many other honors and awards. I earned my CLU degree in 1974 and later my Chartered Finar

Consultant degree from the American College, Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania. Have instructed various

insurance courses.
