Biography

Robert O. Nathaniel was born in 1882. He was the son of Charles Wess Tanner and Lydia Delilah (Turnbow) Tanner and he is listed in their household on the 1900 Census in Smith, Mississippi. ^[2] He was the husband of Edna Sullivan and they are listed together on the 1910 Census with two year old Otis Tanner. ^[3] The 1920 Census has the family in the same location of Smith, Mississippi with Otis and four more children: Wilson, Beatress, Charlie, and Hershel Tanner. ^[4] By the time of the 1930 Census the couple lists three more children: Lexie, Ollie, and Bobbie Tanner ^[5] and the 1940 Census lists their last child; Colon Ray Tanner for a total of nine children. ^[6] He passed away in 1969 at the age of 87 and his parents, some of his siblings, his wife, and a couple of his children are linked to his find-a-grave memorial.^[7]
