Florence Tanner, born September 7, 1928, in Polk, Tennessee to Oscar and Eva Tanner.[1][2][3]
In 1940, Flo, age 17, was living in Ypsilanti, Michigan with her sister Irene and, brother in law, Arthur Oliver.[4]
Her sister, May, introduced her to Don Thibodeau in 1946. [5][6]
Florence Tanner married Donald Joseph Thibodeau on November 24, 1949, at St Alexis Catholic Church, in Ypsilanti, Michigan.[5][7]
On November 24, 1974, Flo celebrated 25 years of marriage to her husband Don.
On November 24, 1999 Flo celebrated 50 years of marriage with her husband Don.
Flo made her first home with her husband in Willow Run Village, where her first child, Carol, was born.[5]
The young family to South Street near the lumberyard where her husband worked. Flo had twin sons Dan and Don Jr.[5]
Flo then moved and made a family home on Midvale Street, in Ypsilanti.
Flo became the Godmother to Nancy Thibodeau Baptized in 1958 who said "She always made beautiful nightgowns, and one year she made a quilt for me"[8]
Flo always remained busy, involved with her family, in-laws, her children's education, and an active member of Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church which she attended with her family.[6] [7]
Sewing was another hobby of hers, and she was a great cook. When her children were older, she began working outside the home.[6]
Flo retired from Gelman Pall Sciences In 2003 after 23 years of service. She was 79.[7]
Florence Thibodeau died October 28, 2009, at St Joseph Mercy Hospital In Ypsilanti, Michigan. She was 87 years old. [1][2][7]
Services were held on Friday, October 30, 2009, at Saint John The Baptist Catholic Church, followed by her entombment at Washtenong Memorial Park and Mausoleum.[2][7]
