Biography

James Tanner was born in Horsham, Sussex in March 1870. His christening was on 22 May 1870. He is the son of George Tanner and Charlotte Burrage and was the 4th child in a family of 6.

In 1887, James emigrated to Canada, and about 7 years later he married Laura Ann Lawson in Kingsville, Ontario. They would become the parents of 8 children between 1896 and 1917.

James and Laura celebrated 50 years of marriage just a few weeks prior to his death on 20 Aug 1944 in St Thomas, Ontario.
