Mrs. Annie Fox Obrist, 72, died at her home Wednesday p.m. after an illness of three months. Mrs. Obrist was born in Canada, January 19, 1864, a daughter of the late William and Elizabeth Moxley Tanner. Surviving are her husband and three sons, V.D. Fox of this place, Leland of Tully, Carl of Syracuse; one sister, Mrs. Emma Hall of Syracuse and one brother, Thomas Tanner of Sacketts Harbor and 8 grandchildren. She was a member of the Weslyn [sic] church at Pine Meadows. She was a devoted mother and will be missed by her children and grandchildren. The funeral services were held at the M.E. church Saturday at 2 o'clock, Rev. Ellis Munyon officiating. Burial at Evergreen cemetery, Orwell. E.A. Field sang one of her favorite hymns, "The Old Rugged Cross." Bearers were Curtis Donnie, Chase Horton, M.J. Sperling, Alva LaVere, John Kandt, Gary West. There were many beautiful floral pieces. Among out of town friends were Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Tanner, Sacketts Harbor; Herbert Tanner, Mrs. Elizabeth Bell, Watertown; Mr. George Cronk, Mrs. J. Whitmore, Mr. Edward Whitmore, Miss Carpenter of Syracuse....

The remains of Mrs. Anna Fox Obrist, wife of John Obrist of Altmar, were interred in Evergreen cemetery Saturday afternoon by the side of her first husband, Frank Fox. Mr. and Mrs. Fox were residents of the town of Orwell many years. Mrs. Obrist died Wednesday afternoon, January 15, at her home in Altmar, aged 71 years.
