Biography

Elizabeth Tanner was born on 18 December 1848 in Bern, Switzerland, daughter of Johannes Tanner (1816–1876) and Elizabeth Stucki (1818–1885). She was baptised on 14 January 1849 in Oberdiessbach, Bern, Schweiz.^[1][2]

By 1858 the family had immigrated to the United States and were living in Lake, Cook County, Illinois.^[3]

She married Daniel Griesel 8 January 1874 in Indiana.^[4] After beginning their life in Indiana, where their children were all born, they moved to Pawnee, Oklahoma sometime before 1900. Their children were:

1. Hattie Griesel (1877–1931) .

3. Edward Griesel (1882–1902) .
4. Ida
5. Charles Griesel (1885–1962)
