DEATH NOTICE. JONES (nee Blackwell).—On June 19, at Grange, Mary Grace Jones, widow of the late James Jones, and late David Blackwell, of Point McLeay, mother of Charles, Edith, George, Walter and Evelyn; also Mabel, Winnie, Gilbert and Edwin (deceased). Aged 89 years.
OBITUARY. Mrs. Mary G. Jones, who died at her home at the Grange last week at the age of 89, was the eldest daughter of the late Rev. George Taplin, founder of the Point McLeay Mission Station. She spent many years at the station, and was married to the late David Blackwell, who at the time of his death in 1893 was superintendent there. She married the late Mr. James Jones in 1897. Mrs. Jones was an active church worker at Hindmarsh and later at Grange. Four children survive, Messrs. G. D. Blackwell, of Kalgoorlie, W. J. Blackwell, of Grange, Miss Edith Blackwell, of Grange, and Mrs. A. J. Elliott, of Lancaster, Mr. Charles Blackwell of Victor Harbor is a stepson. Four children predeceased her. There are 26 grandchildren, and 28 great-grandchildren, several of whom are in the services, and one, Alan Blackwell, of Victor Harbor, paid the supreme sacrifice in New Guinea.
