DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with William by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with William:
Tapp-836 and Tapp-105 appear to represent the same person because: Both of these profiles are married to Christian (Bourne) Tapp. Tapp-836 is an Orphan Profile.
They are the same person. The whole William Tapico( (Tapp) issue is unsettled as far as I know and this plays into the Pocahontas controversy. There is some question as to the actual existence of some of these folks, the story being that someone wanted to enhance his tree and may have invented a person. I wish I could give you a cite but I am sure that you can find the controversy on line. Removing the probably nonexistent person knocked the native American princess out of my tree,

It may be worthwhile to list that the male Tapps in this line are Y-DNA Haplogroup Q1a3a. There are some good details on it available at http://www.tappfamily.us/tng/extrapgs/dnaresults.php.
