Biography

Edward was born 24 May 1886 in Chicago, Cook, Illinois, United States, the son of William Tapp and Eliza Hodge.

23 June 1900, at the age of 14, Edward lived with his parents and two of his sisters in Worth Township Blue Island village, Cook Co., Illinois. His father was Supt. Smelting Works. Edward attended school.

24 June 1908, he married Eleanore Fique Moore. 13 August 1910, their daughter, Margaret Louise Tapp was born,

26 April 1910, Edward and his wife, Eleanor, both aged 24, lived in his father-in-law's (Robert H. Moore's) household in Chicago Ward 14, Cook, Illinois. He worked as a chemist at a smelter works. They had been married for two years. Eleanor had given birth to one child, who had not survived.

12 September 1918, Edward registered for the WW I Draft in Chicago, Illinois. 32 years old, he resided at 2649 Park Avenue. He was Chief Chemist at Great Western Smelting and Refining Co. Picture him medium height and build, with gray eyes and light brown hair.

17 April 1930, Edward and Eleanor resided at 43 70th Place in Chicago (Districts 0501-0750), Cook Co., Illinois with their daughters, Margaret-19 and Ruth-15. He continued to work in the same job.

1942, he lived at the same address when he registered for the WW II Draft at the age of 56. His employer was The American Smelting and Refining Co.

He passed away 1959 at the age of 72-73. BURIAL Hillcrest Cemetery Mountain Grove, Wright County, Missouri, United States
