Biography

Harold J. Tasker was born on Oct. 19, 1911 to Alva Tasker and Hannah Graul Miske.

Harold was raised in Lake Odessa where he graduated from Lake Odessa High School in 1930. He farmed the family farm for a few years before moving to Hastings.

He married Lucille Robinson on Nov. 30, 1934 in Steuben County, Indiana.[1]

Harold then married Vera N. Latta on Feb. 19, 1965.

Harold was employed at Consumers Power Company for a brief time before going to work at Hastings Manufacturing Company where he was employed 38 years, retiring in 1974.

He was a member of the Hastings Elks #1965 and Hastings Moose Lodge #628.

Harold died on Jun. 15, 1991 at his residence in Lake Odessa, Michigan at the age of 79 years.[2]

He was raised in the Lake Odessa area and attended schools there, graduating in 1930 from Lake Odessa High School. He farmed the family farm for a few years before moving to Hastings. He was married to Vera N. Latta on February 19, 1965. He was employed at Consumers Power Company for a brief time before going to work at Hastings Manufacturing Company where he was employed 38 years, retiring in 1974. He has resided at his present address for the past four years. He was a member of the Hastings Elks #1965 and Hastings Moose Lodge #628. Mr. Tasker is survived by his wife, Vera; a son Harold J. Tasker, Jr. of Delton; step daughter, Diane Rodgers of Caledonia; one grandson, Benjamin; three step granddaughters, Rhonda, Tina and Kelly; two step great grandsons, Brandon and Jonathan. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 18 at the Wren Funeral Home in Hastings with Reverend Bill Dobson officiating. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery, Lake Odessa. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association.
