DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships by comparing test results with Joseph or other carriers of his ancestors' Y-chromosome or mitochondrial DNA. Y-chromosome DNA test-takers in his direct paternal line on WikiTree:
  • Eric Orr Find Relationship : Family Tree DNA Y-DNA Test 37 markers, haplogroup R-M269, FTDNA kit #1006196
  • Joseph Tate: Y-Chromosome Test, haplogroup R1b1a2a1a2a1b1a

Hello Again,

You've been a member of WikiTree for about a week now so I thought I would check in to see how it's going. Have the How-Tos been helpful or left you with questions?

I want to help! Click my name, then ask in the comment section of my page or send me a private message. Sometimes links don't work in emails. If that's happened to you, check the public comments on your profile. The links will work from there.

Cindy ~ WikiTree Messenger

PS To find reliable sources for your profiles, go to this link. RootsSearch. There are 24 different websites available and most are free. Give it a try!

Why did you change the name of Hugh Calkin-16 to Peter (Anonymous) with no documentation or explanation? And the name change of Rowland Caulkins-21 to William. Please see the carefully documented Calkins family research on descendants profiles. You are changing names, dates, wives and creating a total mess. I see you are new and probably just confused. In the future on these important profiles, if you think something needs to be corrected, please leave a note on the profile with your reasoning and documentation. The profile managers will then consider your suggestions. Thank you.

Hi Joseph,

Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz!

Because pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants, working within the projects which coordinate them is essential. You can learn more about joining the community in How To #3 and in the Project FAQ.

Use the Pre-1700 Projects list to find one which best fits your research focus, whether time period, location, or special event. Read the goals and tasks of the project and join if it is a good fit.

Let me know if you have trouble finding projects which fit your focus. Click my name, then ask in the comment section of my page.

You are now confirmed! :) Hope you enjoy this site as much as I do as it is a lot of fun and there are tons of great people collaborating. Especially fun connecting to the BIG tree and finding fellow WikiTreers as cousins! ;)

Check out our New Member How-To pages to get started! :)

Charlotte ~ WikiGreeter

PS. How did you get into genealogy? :) I became interested in Middle School but didn't follow up on it until after I got married. :)

P.S.S. If you ever get a "Page Not Found" error when you click a link in a WikiTree email, you can usually find a functioning link in the public comments section of your profile page.
