Biography

Peter was born about 1705. He passed away about 1755. [1]

Disambiguation

Do not confuse the following Peter Tatums, who are different!

  • Peter Tatum (~1675 to 1771) of Surry and Brunswick Counties, son of Nathaniel Tatum “II” (~1635 – 1719). This Peter Tatum married Mary _ who is recorded only once. [2]
  • Peter Tatum (~1705 to 1751/55+), son of Nathaniel Tatum (~1670 to 1738+) – both of Prince George County. This Peter married Mary Epps. [2]
  • Peter Tatum (~1710 to 1751), son of Edward Tatum (~1670/80 to 1739) – both of Surry County, Virginia. This Peter married Sarah Heath.[2]

There is much confusion and concern because Prince George County’s Mary Epps married a different Peter Tatum (~1705 to 1751/55+) - son of Nathaniel Tatum (1670 to 1738+). [2]

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Peter by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Peter:

Tatum-1311 and Tatum-759 do not represent the same person because: They are half brothers with the same name.

Tatum-1311 and Tatum-759 appear to represent the same person because: One has dates of “about” the other has closer dates. The person I’d the same jus more information on the later entry
