DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships by comparing test results with Ellen or other carriers of her ancestors' mitochondrial DNA. Mitochondrial DNA test-takers in the direct maternal line: It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Ellen:

Hello, Ellen -

I was looking at some Crowder folks and your name showed up as a possible DNA match, so I compared my GEDMatch to you and your mother. You and I have a 7.6 cM match on Chr. 13. On my comparison to your mama, we have a total of 23.9 cM (9.8 cM on Chr. 13, as well as smaller matches on other chromosomes). It could very well be that the Crowder folks are not the connection, and I need to do some more digging, but we are definitely connected somewhere, somehow! (Also a DNA match to Elizabeth Jennings, whose profile you also manage.)

Hi Ellen. I just added a note on John Persse (https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Persse-14), wishing for a third cousin to complete DNA triangulation.
I am JUST 5 years later replying it looks like? I never scrolled down here I guess? Wow. We have a Persse Genealogy relations facebook group but I dont see your name on facebook to invite you? We did the Y-DNA test on one Persse and I need to add him to the tree here. I have also done some autosomal tests on people who share the Persse DNA as well. I have uploaded these to Gedmatch. Let me know if you have done any matching? Sorry this took so long!

Hi Ellen. I'm not sure why I posted that unnecessary message in the first place. I've just checked on GEDmatch, and because it's right on the limit of the autosomal range, it's only Tom Taylor and I who have a match, I don't match any of your other kits. So, nothing more to be done here.

Thanks for taking the Persse family Ellen. I don't have any of my own sources for them, and I'm not brave enough to go pre 1700.
Welcome Ellen,

Let me know if you need access to any more Trusted Lists! Happy Hunting!

Hiya!

The DNA does link back to applicable ancestors. Each profile has a DNA tab along the top. This is the one from your mother's page:

http://www.wikitree.com/treewidget/Plummer-1356/89

On the main page of each profile it also shows the DNA connections.

If you see something you think can be improved, please post it in our G2G Forum and be sure to tag it 'dna'. DNA and WikiTree are constantly evolving to be more cohesive. Our WikiTreer-in-Chief, Chris Whitten, is really committed to making DNA an integral part of the site and appreciates any suggestions members might have.
