Grace was born in England c. 1655[1][2] to Henry Taylor and Mary (MNU), and then came to the Province of Maryland in 1667. From the court records: "Henry Taylor proves right to 150 acres & warrant. Came forth Henry Taylor of St Mary's Co., tailor, and proved right as well to fifty acres of land for his time of service performed and also 100 acres more for the transport of Mary his wife, & Grace his child."
Her mother died in Maryland, and her father married Faith Campbell c. 1688. Grace had five brothers living when her father died in 1700: Henry Taylor Jr, John, William, Thomas, and James.
Grace married James Greenwell in 1672[3], and they had 12 children.
After James died in 1714 she married Lawrence Galle. He died in 1736.

Greenwell, James,St. Mary's Co., 28th Nov., 1709; 14th Aug., 1714. To wife Grace, extx., during widowhood, of 200 A., "Pileswood Lane", it being the dwelling place; she to have charge of younger child. until they are 18 yrs. of age. [p.18] To son John and hrs., residue of land afsd.; he to have charge of child. should wife marry or die. In event of his death without issue, his estate to pass in succession to sons Justinian and Ignatius and hrs., to son Stephen and hrs., son Charles and hrs., and then to 3 sons Henry, Thos. and William and hrs. To sons afsd., personalty. To son James, 1 shilling in full of his share of estate. To 3 daus., Mary Heard, Grace Clarke and Jane (Greenwell), at 18 yrs., personalty. Test: Jo.
