Research Note

Robert and I have so many ancestors residences in common that we are planning a "Family visit" to all OUR states:
Bradfield/Puntenney in Ohio
Manis/Goode/Taylor/Lee in Missouri
Manis/Rimer/Delph in Tennessee
Bradfield/Puntenney-Taylor in California
Manis-Bradfield/Manis-Greer in Colorado

We were both born in California, he in Los Angles and me in Long Beach. His dad and he were raised in Missouri and my dad and his dad were born in Missouri. Robert spent 20 years in the Navy and so did my brother-in-law and sister. His Great grandparents lived/died in Ohio and so are mine. One of his great grampas was born in Illinois and my grampa Puntenney was born in Illinois. And THEN the biggest connection...our great gramma MANIS's were sisters and after moving to different states are now BOTH buried in Colorado, where I am now living.....

Cuz' Carole Taylor related from Grampa Albert Lofton Manis/Martha Rimer and their daughters. Adeline Manis-Greer and Easter Manis-Bradfield John Bradfield to link to the Manis family...

Just a question or two. You edited Leader-56 with two different entries. On one you changed "Marietta, Pennsylvania" to "Marietta, Lancaster, Pennsylvania." On the other, you changed "Jackson County, Missouri" to "Jackson, Missouri, United States." My question, why "United States" on one and not the other? Should not have Independence been added before Jackson? Jacob was an early Settler in Independence, Jackson County, Missouri and I did add "Independence" on your correction of where he died.

Nathan Baker (Baker-29814) and Nathan Baker (Baker-14994) Thank you for looking up my Nathan. He didn't pop up for you because his middle name Addison and that he liked to be called N.A. Baker. Out in CO. they weren't fighting any southerners but Native Americans. Nathan missed Sand Creek, Nov 28. His diaries and his father's diaries are at the Denver, CO library but his father's haven't been scanned, copied or posted yet. He had come home and told his father, Addison Baker, about the massacre and that he wasn't in it but heard several hundred had died. He was a newspaper man and someone in Denver had called for him to help them with something so he wasn't there. Thank you for using your tidying skills to clean up my additions. I want to build out my base of relatives I have known in real life while my mother is living and can tell me stories about the ones she remembers, so I need to slow down and get it right. I inherited a large portion of mostly Richey photos, but also Weaver and Rimer, some going back to the original tin type photos. They were my Grandfather Joseph Roosevelt Richey's pride and joy, and because I spent much time with him going through them, his wife, my grandmother Nellie Iona Richey left them all to me! And with those entrusted to me, a responsibility I do not take lightly, I have spent at least 1k already to preserve and research for future generations. Thank you very much for your help!
