The death occured at York on the 23rd instant of an old identity in the person of Samuel Taylor, aged 89. His remains were interred in the Methodist portion of the York Cemetry on Friday, the Rev. Robins officiating at the Graveside. Prior to the funeral, a. short service was held at the Methodist Church where the "Dead March" was played on the church organ.
A fairly large attendance followed the remains to to the York Cemetary. The-Chief Mourners at the grave side were W. S., J. N., and G. A., Taylor (sons), S. Torrens. (Brother-in-law), and J. N. Taylor (nephew). The Pall Bearers were Messrs. G-Linto, senr., G. Linto, Jnr., J. Linto and S. Prideaux.[1]
