Leora May Taylor was born on March 17, 1898 in Elma, Washington to William Franklin Taylor, and Dessie Johnson[1]. Her father was 32 and mother was 23. Leora had 2 siblings, Leona and Charles. Her brother Charles passed away when Leora was less than a year old. Her mother, Dessie, passed away in 1905 when Leora was 7.
In 1900, Leora (age 2), her mom, dad and sister were living with her paternal grandmother in Grays Harbor, Washington. Her dad and grandmother are farmers[2]. Leora's mother died in 1905 when Leora was about 7 years old[3]. In 1910 Leora, her dad and sister live in Oakville, Chehalis, Washington. Her dad, William, is employed on a farm helping with the farming[4].
Leora married Grover Cleveland Greimes in Seattle, King, Washington on Sept. 12, 1917[5] when she was 19 years old. Grover's mother and Leora's father were witnesses. They had 3 sons together: Grover Jr., Gordon, and Robert.
In 1920, Grover and Leora lived in King County, Washington with their first son, Grover Junior, age 1. Grover worked in merchandise as a clerk[6]. By 1930, all 3 of Leora and Grover's sons have been born and they live in Seattle, King, Washington. Grover is a purchasing agent for the Light and Power Company[7] and in 1940 they all live in the same house and Grover still works as a purchasing agent for the Power and Light company [8].
Leora developed Melanotic Sarcoma (skin cancer) in about 1948. A year later it metastasized to the liver and lungs[9]. Leora died a year after that in Sequim, Washington on Sept. 14, 1950[10] when she was 52 years old.
