Biography
Mary Ann Caroline Taylor (married name Preston) was born in 1857 in Norfolk, England, the daughter of Christina (Clarke) Taylor and Frederick Taylor.[citation needed][1]
Mary Anne arrived in Tasmania on the Sir W F Williams in 1857 with her parents, Frederick and Christina Taylor and older siblings.[2] The Sir W F Williams was named after General Sir William Fenwick Williams.
She married Charles Henry Preston in 1884 in Victoria, Australia.[3] Their children were:[citation needed]
- Charles Herbert Livingstone Preston (1885–?)
- Frederick Clarence Preston (1888–?)
- Reginald Lawrence Preston (1890–1969)
- Howard Avondale Preston (1892–1977)
- Stewart Brayfield Preston (1896–1956)
Mary died in 1940 in Moreland, Victoria, aged 83 years.[4]
