DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships by comparing test results with Jeff or other carriers of his ancestors' Y-chromosome or mitochondrial DNA. Y-chromosome DNA test-takers in his direct paternal line on WikiTree:
  • Jeff Taylor: Family Tree DNA Y-DNA Test 67 markers, haplogroup I-Y13074, FTDNA kit #B12196 + Y-Chromosome Test 200 markers, haplogroup I2a-L38
Mitochondrial DNA test-takers in the direct maternal line:
  • Jeff Taylor: Mitochondrial DNA Test Full Sequence, haplogroup T2g1
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Jeff:

Hi, I see that you added the tag "1776" for the American Revolutionary War (1776) Project

If you are interested in joining the American Revolutionary War Project, please refer to the project page and then go to this G2G post to join (add an answer rather than a comment):

Please let us know if you have any questions!

Hi, Jeff. I see that you are following the G2G tag american_revolutionary_war. Some time ago a decision was made to standardize on 1776 as the tag for that war, and I've been retagging some posts that were tagged with american_revolutionary_war. I suggest that you add 1776 to your followed tags (you can do this at https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Special:Following ).

Hello again!

This week we have your last stop on the guided tour. We want to give you just a few more tools that can take you even deeper into the WikiTree forest without getting lost: How to Dig a Little Deeper.

As always, your questions are welcome!

P.S. If you have trouble with the links in this message, try clicking through from the comment on your profile page.

Hi!

There's a fast and easy way to access your WikiTree profiles using the Watchlist. So, this week we're going to look at How to Manage Your Watchlist.

Please let me know if you have questions! If you have trouble with the links in this message, try clicking through from the comment on your profile page.

Jeff--

You've been here for three weeks now! We hope your profiles are starting to come together and that you've enjoyed getting to know all of us a little better. You're probably getting a good feel for the collaborative nature of WikiTree by now. We know that collaboration isn't always easy. So, we've put together a few pointers that can make working in this type of environment a little easier: How to be a Successful WikiTreer. As always, your questions are welcome!

Hi Jeff,

It's time for your next stop on the guided tour!

This week, we'd like to show you How to Join in the Community. There's no shortage of opportunities to get involved through social media, our forum, and projects.

Be sure to check out the One Name Studies Project to see if anyone has started a project for one of the surnames in your family. Don't see one? Follow the instructions for starting your own!

Please let us know if you have questions! Just click my name above the comment, then ask in the comment section of my page. We want to help!

Hi Jeff --

You've been here a week now, and we hope you enjoyed your first stop on your guided tour of WikiTree and were able to make good use of the things you learned.

Our next stop will give you some pointers on how to make your profiles stand out: How to Edit a Profile.

As always, your questions are welcome!

Shirley

Welcome! We are glad you are here!  Please let Kitty Smith know if you are interested in joining our DNA Project or our FTDNA Project.

If you have not done so, set your Followed preferences to include DNA.

It's not hard to add DNA test information to profiles on WikiTree, just make sure you add the tests to the actual test participant's profile & set the Privacy to ‘private w/ public biography & family tree’ to show the tester's part of our tree. For help see  How to DNA on WikiTree

We also encourage you to join our Google+ Community for DNA discussions, questions & new information.

Hello Jeff,

Thank you for self-certifying for the Pre-1700 badge! Participation in a project is strongly encouraged for those wishing to edit Pre-1700 profiles.

It looks like the Military and War Project or one of the sub-projects of the United States History Project would be a good fit with the tags you entered. Changing your tags to include the name of the project you choose will help you get updates about activity for that project.

Do you have any questions? Let me know. I'm happy to help! :-)

Hi Jeff,

Thanks for joining us! I’m David, a WikiTree Mentor. Hope you're enjoying our site.

Did you have fun learning your way around WikiTree yesterday?

I just wanted to check in and see how things are going. Do you have any questions I can answer?

Thank you for volunteering! I am pleased to confirm your membership to WikiTree.

As we've said, WikiTree is quite different from other genealogy sites. So, we've put together a guided tour to help you learn how to use it. Your first stop is How to Start Climbing Our Tree. Next week, you'll get another message with your next stop on the guided tour.

You can also meet some of us in the G2G forum. Feel free to jump in, introduce yourself, and answer our Question Of The Week: Do you have any inventors in your family tree?

Tomorrow, you'll hear from a Mentor who will check in to see how you're doing and answer any questions you might have.

Vicky
