He is very likely the William Taylor who was among the 40 colonists who arrived at Jamestown in Oct 1633 with Edward Kingswell and his partners Roger Wingate and their families, on their way to make a settlement in North Carolina, the first attempt since the ill-fated Raleigh venture, but the vessel that was to transport them from Jamestown was abandoned, and most of them probably remained in Virginia. Kingswell devised his rights to Wingate, whose widow Dorothy devised them to Lewis Burwell. On 18 Apr 1648 a patent was granted to Lewis Burwell and Thomas Vause for 2300 acres for transporting colonists. As several persons who were headrights under his patent are known to have been with the Kingswell colony, it is believed that this list represents the entire group of colonists. Among the names are included William Taylor, Elias Taylor and Thomas Adams.
In 1648, William Taylor, Elias Taylor & Thomas Adams were named on a patent granted to Lewis Burwell and Thomas Vause for 2300 acres of land.[3]
One problem with this is that William's son Elias was born about 1644.
Second Possibility
Wnifred Taylor, daugher of William and Elizabeth, was baptized in Blankney, Lincolnshire, England, on 1 mar 1639.[4]

William Taylor was born in 1612, in England, and immigrated to American. Accomack Parish, Virginia was planning to build a church at Assawoman. A deed for land for a burial place and a church was given by William Taylor in 1680. Since no contract was found for this or Magothy Bay Church, the building of the brick churches must have been done over a period of years and partly paid for in gifts of time and private gifts of tobacco. To the second problem mentioned above: There is at least one reference to William Taylor traveling back to England, in 1645. It is more than possible that the immigration/emigration records are not complete, and Elizabeth went to England to give birth... (Yes, is speculation.)
To the first problem mentioned above: William Taylor brought an action to the court on 25 Oct 1637 at Accomack, Northamption County, Virginia. Whereas William Taylor hath made complaint to this court that his brother Elias Taylor doth most wrongfully and injuriously keep away and deter from him his apparel and other necessaries ... It was then ordered that Elias give him back his stuff. Susie M. Taylor-47477 and Taylor-2746 appear to represent the same person because: William Taylor's Will: To my 4 grandaughters Elizabeth, Mary, Rachell & Sarah Parker, daughters of Winefred Parker wife of Peter Parker
Taylor-52332 and Taylor-47477 appear to represent the same person because: Same birth date and place, same death date and place. Child on -47477 likely incorrect because he was born when father was 14, and before father married mother. No sources on either profile. Please merge.
Can we be more specific with the reference to Mile Files 17.2 which frankly leads no where other than dozens of references to various families on the eastern sea seaboard in Colonial America
Miles Files redid their database, in the process breaking all previous links. So all of them have to be updated to Miles Files 23 references.
