Elizabeth's date of death is unknown. James Stanton makes no provision for a wife in his will yet the first witness signature is an Elizabeth Beaver followed by his two daughters.
James Stanton's will was written 14 Jul 1719. His housing and land are given to his son James; daughters Mary and Ann are bequeathed various household furniture and goods; remainder of the estate divided equally between "my three children." Son James is the sole executor. The signatories (with marks) Elizabeth E Beaver, Mary Stanton, Ann A Stanton. Probate date 16 Sep 1719, Court held at Southwark, County of Surry, Jno Allen Clerk of Court.[1]
This profile previously stated "When Elizabeth Taylor was born in 1660 in Surry, Virginia, her father, Thomas, was 23. She had four children with Robert Judkins. After his death she married widower James Stanton II." However, the parentage attached here is entirely without documentation as is the surname Taylor.
Elizabeth's maiden name is often seen as Taylor but there is no documentary evidence of this. She was previously attached, absent any documentation, as the daughter of Thomas Taylor and Margaret Gray. Lacking any evidence that her maiden name was Taylor or that she was the daughter of these people, she has been disconnected and her maiden name changed to Unknown until such time as primary source documentation comes to light.
