from p. 15, The Thomas Taylor Family History, DR. Wallace Taylor, 1920.

They (Thomas & Margaret) lived on the Panhandle of Virginia, between Wheeling and the west line of Pennsylvania, and for the last few years before moving to Ohio, they lived on Goose Creek, Brooke county, VA, a diminuative stream emptying into Buffalo Creek some two and one-half miles above the mouth into the Ohio River, and some three miles from Wellsburg, VA. Their son Thomas was born on Goose creek, VA, Sep. 25, 1807, and Grandfather received a deed for his place five days later - in Cadiz township, Jefferson county, Ohio, about one mile north of the village of Cadiz. Note: Present day Harrison county was carved from Jefferson county and in 1807, Cadiz was three, small log cabins.
