According to the family bible of William Starbuck, Jane Taylor was born on November 24, 1758. The Starbuck-Simmons family bible has been photographed and transcribed and is maintained by the Randolph County, Indiana Historical Society.[1]

Jane was born to Thomas Taylor and Mary Stuart. Jane is named as "Jean Starbuck" in her mother's will which was probated on February 21, 1806 in Guilford County, North Carolina. Her husband William was named as "son-in-law" and named Executor of her estate.[2] Jane is only mentioned as a "daughter" and not by name in her father's will which was probated in 1802 in Guilford, North Carolina. Her husband William Starbuck was named as "son-in-law" and an Executor of the estate.[3]

Jane married William Starbuck on May 4, 1776 in New Garden the record lists her father as Thomas Taylor.[4]

Jane and William had eleven children, two sons and nine daughters, born to them in New Garden, North Carolina.[5]
